Colosseum tickets are timed
Colosseum, Rome, Lazio
Published Oct 10, 2026 · RegretMap travel note
The situation
Entry to the Colosseum works on timed tickets, and popular slots sell out in high season. Turning up hoping to buy at the gate often ends in disappointment.
The lesson
Book the official ticket ahead and arrive a little before your slot for security.
