The situation
The park is open only in the summer months, and the fullest blooms come during the monsoon. That's also when landslides block the roads into Chamoli, sometimes for a day or more.

Build at least one spare day into a monsoon trip here.
Advice for future travellers
Pack a proper rain shell and shoes with grip; ponchos alone struggle on the climb to Ghangaria.
