The situation
Midday visits mean hot marble underfoot and the longest line to the inner sanctum. Early morning and late evening are calmer, and the temple reflected in the lit-up pool is a different sight.

Plan two short visits instead of one long midday one.

The marble walkways can be very hot in summer afternoons; carpets cover only some paths.
