PlanningTravel note
Gandikota is a village, not a town
Gandikota fort, Gandikota, Andhra Pradesh
Published Oct 10, 2026 · RegretMap travel note
The situation
Food and stays at Gandikota are limited, and the nearest town with more choice is Jammalamadugu. Arriving late without arrangements leaves few options.
The lesson
Book your stay and bring snacks and water.
Advice for future travellers
If you're camping, follow the rules of the designated site and leave nothing behind.
